Clatsop County Master Gardener™ Association

Clatsop County Master Gardener™ Association (CCMGA) provides research-based home horticulture advice, education and outreach to our community. In 2001, we established a scholarship to support outstanding Clatsop County students whose education and career paths align with our mission.

The Clatsop County Master Gardener™ Association Scholarship is awarded in increments of $500 to $2,000. The scholarship is designed for students pursuing post-secondary education in horticulture or related fields, including but not limited to: forestry, plant biology, agriculture, landscape architecture or design, landscape maintenance technology, floristry, education, or earth sciences.

Applicants must be:

• A Clatsop County high school senior or equivalent OR

• A post-secondary student residing in Clatsop County

Funding Requirements:

• The scholarship funds must be used for tuition, books, fees, or related expenses at a community college, vocational or technical school, or four-year college or university.

• Once enrolled, you must send verification of registration no later than one month after the first day of class or training. Verification should be sent to: CCMGA Treasurer, OSU Extension, 2001 Marine Dr. #210, Astoria, OR  97103. 

• Funds will be sent directly to the school or training organization and deposited into your student account. Special arrangements can be made for one-time expenses for recipients enrolling into a trade school or specialized training program. 

Application Requirements:  

• Completed and legible application

• Typed or written essay per guidelines on page two

• Copy of high school transcript, graduation certificate or equivalent (as applicable)

• Two letters of reference from any of the following: teacher, counselor, employer or organization leader (i.e., 4-H, FFA, scouts, youth group, sports, etc.)
